Leadership qualities are part of a good law firm management strategies. Good leadership qualities  traditionally makes a professional lawyer. Lawyers are expected to be skeptical, introverted, autonomous and resistive in nature, they are urgent and are not easily distracted by  temporary or permanent set-backs. They are also expected to be open-minded , strategic , social , team-oriented, and these are the leadership qualities that can help attorneys survive the present competitive market.  The traditional matrix of most law firms do not merge very well with leadership model of quality management.
It is often difficult for many clients or outsiders to decipher the attorney that actually possess the power to make certain decisions hence they become much confused and that may influence their decisions in service delivery. There should be an existing decision hierarchy in any law firm and that should help clients in  booking an appointment with the ideal attorney for their legal services, Some law firms are not that disorganized that they do not have a proper administrative structure which they can count on as heir management . This can discourage would-be leaders and slow down the processing of several case files which would have taken few minutes or hours to process.
For an effective law firm management and leadership qualities, the law firm culture must change, Individuals must self-identify as leaders, Attorney leaders must rally others behind a shared vision, Potential leaders must be able to challenge the status-quo, and potential leaders must implement actions to achieve their visions. For the law firm culture to change , attorneys in a law firm must imbibe the culture of behavioural changes {changes is essential for survival and growth of a law firm}. Potential leaders must be able to challenge the status-quo . Potential leaders must be able to effect a change and they must know what is expected from them at law firms , they must have the technical knowledge of legal matters as well as client-relation techniques.
Leadership qualities are not only ideal for law firm management, they can serve as effective law firm marketing strategies especially if attorneys can make some behavioural changes aside the stereo-type law firm euphoria which often carry them away making them to forget about less important issues such as this. Leadership qualities also include; optimizing opportunities to learn and grow, making one’s opinion count in client-relation issues and being able to work independently under minimum supervision.
